This is the domain where a mobile user can access the local network remotely, usually through a VPN (Figure). Remote access is the ability of an authorized person to access a computer or network from a geographical distance through a network connection. Remote access is a method for establishing a connection through the server and expands network access capacity. Allows the user to manage and view the system to correct any faults or requirements when unable to connect physically.
In other words, the user can access the system with an Internet connection or a telecommunication method. IT employees and company bosses traveling to a different location should have access to computer networks using remote access control. Remote access allows users to connect to resources in other locations. Remote desktop access tools take this further and allow users to control the host computer from any location via the Internet.
Remote access policies go beyond simple user authentication. These policies define how users can connect to the network. You can also grant or deny dial-up permission, based on the credentials submitted by remote users. A remote access policy defines the conditions, remote access permissions and creates a profile for each remote connection made to the corporate network.
A common method for providing remote access is through a remote access virtual private network (VPN) connection. The NPS collects information and compares the configuration of the remote computer with a default network access policy that the administrator can customize. The controlled remote access performance that operates the Microsoft remote desktop service and client software must be accessible on a remote server and loading machine. By using remote access policies, administrators can limit the access rights and privileges of remote users and computers by validating connections and can specify connection restrictions.
A remote access server is the system and related software that manages and controls user access to remote networks. Two attributes (MS-Quarantine-IP Filter and MS-Quarantine-Session-Timeout) filter IP traffic between the remote access client and the remote access server until the client system meets the configuration requirements or the wait time period is reached. Remote access tools can be available on demand or without supervision, and can connect users to remote resources or provide access to the host computer from other locations. You can configure individual user accounts to allow or prevent remote access, or configure one or more remote access policies to control access based on users, groups, times of day, and many other criteria.
Originally, remote access solutions used dial-up technologies to allow employees to connect to an office network through telephone networks that connected to remote access servers. Once a user's computer connects to the remote host, it can display a window with the desktop of the destination computer. To be effective, a remote access policy must cover everything related to network access for remote workers.

Also known as a communication server, a remote access server depends on a firewall server for protected access to the server and on a router that can forward the remote access request to another part of the network. .
